The DAY!!!

love marriage vs arranged marriage.. well this is one of the most common topics of debate in india.. it does not exist anywhere else because arranged marraiges are unique to india.. especially south india..

I remember having given this topic for debate when i was in college or even in school.. its the topic that comes up most between parents and kids.. but this blog is not about the debate or the argument.. but how one would feel on the day of those marriages.. even though i blindly support love marriages over arranged ones.. when I think about the day of the marriage.. i am force to change my stance.. there are many things that an arrange marraige offers that love marraiges dont.. this blog is just another cruisin thought of mine on this topic..

First let me analyse the boring side. the day of a love marraige.. the guy knows the girl well.. the girl knows the guy TOO well.. they have already had their arguments and differences sorted out.. you really dont ve big dreams or expectations coz u pretty much know what u r gonna get.. u kinda know how things are going to be after u get married to her.. a comparison wud be liking eating a meal that u ve cooked.. u pretty much know how bad or good its gonna taste.. another simple comparison would be think of the topper of ur class in college.. The way he goes to write a sem exam.. All confident.. he knows he can answer any question that comes up.. all he is thinking of is if he will get a 99% or a 100%.. he is cautious not to make any silly mistakes that would cost him the centum... cmonn.. is this how u go to an exam.. how boring it is.. ur like a machine writing all the correct answers for those 3 hours.. but this is how precisely love marraige will
be..

Now comes the interesting analysis of an arranged marraige.. u ve no idea if the girl is devil or an angel.. its like taking you to a field.. tossing a coin and saying.. heads.. spend the life with a devil.. tails.. ur lucky.. in real life probability heads would come up 75% of the time.. coz many angels have already fallen in love.. you have many dreams and the most common one wud be to marry a village girl like the roja movie.. or u also have the nightmare of a nagging wife who always comes in old Visu movies.. I really wonder how my dad wud ve felt on the day of his marriage.. he saw on my mom a few minutes before he was about to tie the knot... thats real guts i tell u.. and not only my dad.. many from his generation had those guts.. i dont even wanna think of it.. Infact the first person who my dad met was my mom's dad... who had come to receive him in the railway station.. if my dad had imagined my mom anything close to her dad.. he wud ve run
away ;)

well this scenario is pretty much like how most of us had taken a semester exam.. we are awake all nite long slogging for that one extra mark that could determine pass or fail.. while going to the hall we think of all the gods possible and offer anything for a passmark.. we study like 10 percent of the entire book and we expect the entire question paper to be out of that.. even the last minute discussions are like who is going to be the supervisor today.. many of us wud be wanting a cute hot young lecturer.. who would not really mind us looking at the anwer paper in front.. and one who we could admire while we are not writing anything.. (which would be like half of those 3 hours) we get so creative that we make new hand signals every exam to pass one mark answers.. usually those ten multiple choice questions decide the result.. we are more bothered about the seating arrangement than the questions taht are gonna come.. so much to write about and it cud
still be never ending.. this the thrill that arranged marraige offers u..

but its all for one day and one day only.. for those of u want to risk a lot for this one day.. go for arranged marraige.. i am not in for it..

Cheers!!

Mapla nice blog da...but think of this...just because there is so much thrill and excitement on that one hour in an arranged marriage why would some one want to risk their entire life...the probability of heads ie a devil is also high...lol

When we want to ensure doubly that our room mate of four years in engg college hostel matches our interest and habits...what about a life partner mapla?
